National Education Policy (NEP)

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 of India is a comprehensive framework that aims to transform the country’s education system to meet the needs of the 21st century. It focuses on making education holistic, flexible, multidisciplinary, and learner-centered, while promoting equity and quality at all levels.

The policy introduces a new 5+3+3+4 curricular structure, replacing the old 10+2 system, to better align education with children’s developmental stages. It emphasizes foundational literacy and numeracy, critical thinking, creativity, and experiential learning rather than rote memorization.
