Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is celebrated annually on January 9 to recognize and honor the contributions of the Indian diaspora worldwide. The day commemorates the return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to India in 1915, symbolizing the global impact of Indians in various fields such as business, culture, science, and public service. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas features conferences, cultural programs, and award ceremonies, including the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award, to strengthen ties between India and its overseas community.
