As the winter chill settles over Kolkata, the city transforms into a vibrant hub of melody and heritage. The Bangla Sangeet Mela and Biswa Bangla Loko Sanskriti Utsab 2025 are currently underway, celebrating the profound depth of Bengali music and folk traditions.
Organized by the Information and Cultural Affairs Department of the Government of West Bengal, these festivals are a testament to the state’s commitment to preserving its “Mati o Manush” (soil and people) culture.

The 2025 edition of these twin festivals officially kicked off on December 25, 2025, and will continue through January 1, 2026.
- Timings: Daily performances generally begin at 5:00 PM and run until 9:00 PM.
