International Mother Language Day, observed every year on 21 February, is a global celebration dedicated to promoting linguistic diversity, multilingual education, and the preservation of mother tongues across the world. This day also pays tribute to the Language Movement martyrs of Bangladesh, who sacrificed their lives in 1952 to protect the recognition of the Bengali language. Their courage became a powerful symbol of linguistic rights worldwide.
